This week's award goes to anyone who ever said that the majority of Palestinians are moderates who really want peace. What an incredible self-delusion! Recent events have shown the world the true colors of our Palestinian neighbors. Given the opportunity, they elected as their government one of the most bloodthirsty organizations of modern times (and their thirst is quenched primarily with the blood of our Jewish brothers and sisters), Hamas. Is anyone aware that this word means "corruption" in Hebrew? A prophetic name indeed.
Please don't tell me that they were elected because of their social service programs. Everyone knows the true agenda of Hamas, and they themselves feel no need in keeping it a secret. Every Palestinian who voted knew that it was a vote to spill innocent Jewish blood. Apparently the Palestinian "morality" has no problem with accepting benefits from murderers, but as for the decent people of the world, we don't care for our bread to be served by bloody hands.

Agreed on all counts, JF. The whole thing sickens me.
And are you serious? Hamas really means "corruption" in Hebrew? Wow.
Stacey: Forget for a moment the effect of Hamas leadership on the Arab-Israeli conflict, and just consider the absolute moral bankrupcy shown by the average Palestinian in this election.
As for the word "Hamas" see Genesis 6:11. It says, "Vatimaley ha'aretz hamas" - And the land was filled with corruption. See also Rashi's commentary on Genesis 6:13. He says there: "their decree was finalized only because of the brazen thievery" (Rashi's interpretation of "hamas").
How interesting. Thanks for the references.
What do you think will end up happening ultimately in Israel, JF?
JF,
I wonder, was this post inspired by my recent work?
Rebecca: All of the Left-wing terrorist lovers think that the Palestinians are mostly moderate people who just want peace. That was the thinking behind the failed Oslo accords. If you think about it, the election of the bloody terrorist organization known as Hamas, is really the culmination of Oslo. In reality, the Palestinian "plight" is just a pretext that the arab world uses in pusuit of their ultimate goal: the destruction of the Jewish state.
Stacey: I don't think that things will be qualitatively different in Israel. The terrorist lovers will continue to justify the actions of murderers, and the Jews with a "ghetto mentality" will continue to wring their hands and agree. Only proud non-apologetic Jews will be useful in combating our many enemies.
Orthoprax: This post in particular was inspired by current events (I always give a hat tip when appropriate), but I will say that I am a faithful reader of your work, both past and present. Your blog is excellent and worthy of the Jewish Freak's "Fine Jews" list.
The left is even having a hard time spinning the Hamas win.
Israel is in a perfect position to draw their borders finally after their own election and build their walls and defend themselves from what would be now considered International Acts of War.
Bacon Eater: Although the left is currently having trouble spinning the Hamas win, don't underestimate the creativity of terrorist lovers when it comes to justifying the murder of Jews.
And I certainly agree that defined borders will be very beneficial to Israel.
BTW, thanks for stopping by.
JF,
"This post in particular was inspired by current events (I always give a hat tip when appropriate)"
I didn't say I deserved a hat tip, I just thought that my story may have prompted you to write your own piece on it. Or maybe I was just thinking too much about my own effect on people. ;-)
"but I will say that I am a faithful reader of your work, both past and present. Your blog is excellent and worthy of the Jewish Freak's "Fine Jews" list."
Ah, much thanks. I haven't read much of your blog, but perhaps I will soon.
