Today's Question: Hertzl vs The Chofetz Chaim

A Question for today:

Who did more for the Jewish people, Theodore Hertzl, or the Chofetz Chaim?

Hertzel for sure. What did the Chofetz Chaim leave us? A bunch of laws to make life more difficult. How many more Chumros can a person take? Hertzel worked hard to get us our homeland. He did a good thing, what our leaders in Israel are doing, thats a different story.

Anon: Although I don't share your antipathy of Jewish law, I certainly agree with you that Hertzl wins hands down. If not for him and his love for the Jewish people, we would not be back in our homeland.

Hey Jewish Freak,
you came out of nowhere with your shvantz of the week, give us some background, are you and unorthodoxjew.blogspot.com brothers?

Happy: The shvantz of the week is just my way of giving expression the cranky old jew in me. I never even heard of "unorthodoxjew" but he sounds interesting.

Adderrabbi: It's interesting that you mention Einstien vs Feinstien. I heard a story from a reliable source about Rav Moshe. There was a debate going on about whether or not Einstien had reached the level of ahavas Hashem, because said he was felt overwhelmed by the infinite intelligence of the designer of the universe. Opponents claimed he could not reach that level because he was not shomer mitzvos. It was agreed that they would settle the matter by asking Rav Moshe. They asked him "Could Einstien have ahavas Hashem if he did not keep the mitzvos?" and he answered "It would seem that mitzvah he had!
I always liked that story.

We would have been so happy out there, especialy after the pope woud have come down and converted us all.
